Now here is one well-managed building in an area that is exploding in terms of development and change. Perfectly situated near Jefferson Medical, Hahnemann, and U of Penn. The size of the units (no studios) is perfect for the market. East-facing condos offer limited views, but the fit and finish are strong for the price segment in which the building targets. All penthouse units on the 20th floor are bi-level. I have often said that the Ellington condos at 1500 Chestnut St. have the shortest “DOM” (days on the market) numbers in the City...and I believe that to be true. The units, especially in the spring market, fly off the shelves when listed. The condo building has a smallish gym and meeting/board room for owners and The Ellington is pet friendly. Common areas are kept in top-notch condition and very well maintained. Front desk staff is always friendly, which isn’t always the case here in many Center City condo buildings like The Ellington.

What most buyers do NOT know about the Ellington Condos at 1500 Chestnut Street

  • 1) The building is overwhelming consists of one bedroom condos.
  • 2) All penthouse units on the 20th-floor bi-level UP to the 21st floor at the Ellington.
  • 3) Long-time manager Pam is accessible and I think does a great job running the building.
  • 4) A Staples store is on the first floor of 1500 Chestnut St.
  • 5) The Ellington condos at 1500 Chestnut Street do have rental restrictions (as of 2019).
