The Wireworks Condominiums located on the north west corner of 3rd and Race Streets, is dominated by studio and one bedroom units. The Wireworks is located within the Old City section of Center City Philadelphia and is a loft condo conversion from the early 1980's. A good deal of exposed structural detail make this particular condo building in the 19106 area of interest to many Philly condo buyers seeking a "hip" kind of living environment. Oversized windows, good light, and some units highlight 301 Race St. The Wireworks condos at 3rd and Race Streets offer rental parking across the street and plenty of "walkable" things to do in the area. One of the original pieces of Philadelphia real estate to be converted to condos, 301 Race Street has had a fairly good track record of sales over the years.

One of the first condo conversions in Old City- The Wireworks paved the way for the area. Along with BridgeView Place and The Castings, this trio of condo buildings first came on the market in the mid-1980s - I know because my first condo in Philly was in one of the buildings. THIS IS INTERESTING - Since the Wireworks and its two sister buildings were the first to infiltrate Old City- the composite of the units skews small- in terms of unit size. New condos in new "pioneering" areas of town (think 1985) result in a lot of smaller units- usually studio and one-bedroom units. Only after many years does an up-and-coming area have $1M condos as Old City has today. Good values here- I think the value is heavily based on the interior condition of the particular condo in question and which direction it faces in this building. Not all units are created equal in terms of demand and resale value.

We have sold a half dozen units at The Wireworks at 301 Race St. over the years.
